Homelands are usually significant distances by road and air from regional cultures. Roads are extremely rough and for several months of the year can be impassable. We want to maintain vehicles and boats in good order for the day to day use of the community.
In 2018 expert health professionals visited Mata Mata to consider whether there could be a high tech monitoring solution to ensure preventative care was available 24 hours a day for people living in remote areas. In 2019 we want to trial this technology and to provide funds for any medical emergencies in the community. We also want to ensure that when necessary community members can travel to Darwiin and Nhulunbuy for specialist medical care, dentistry and tests.
